Geophysical methods are applied to a variety of geotechnical and environmental applications.  They are most effectively used at the initial stages of a site characterization effort to guide invasive follow-up and to provide a reconnaissance over large areas.  Geophysical methods are also used to provide very detailed data within a localized area.
